The Mont Saint-Michel, The Wonder of the Western World
The “Wonder of the Western World” is located at the heart of an immense bay which is known to have the highest tides in Europe. It was at the request of the Archangel Michel “the chief of the celestial militia” that Aubert, Bishop of Avranches built and consecrated a small church on 16th October 709.
- Set off with the Avranches Scriptorial. It presents the precious manuscripts from the abbey of Mont Saint-Michel, entrusted to the town of Avranches since the Revolution.

- Then, let's go to the marvel. Explanation of works in the Mont Saint Michel. Through the combined forces of the sea and the River Couesnon, the sediment will be flushed out in order to restore its marine dimension.

Tatihou island, the last pearl of the UNESCO heritage
Both Towers of Tatihou and the Hougue are built by a pupil of Vauban, Benjamin Combes, in order to defend the Bay of Saint-Vaast against possible aggressors. The fortifications on Tatihou will continue until the XIXth century.
